In Loving Memory of My Beloved Father

8th Death Anniversary

إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
"Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return." (Qur'an 2:156)

Today marks the 8th anniversary of the passing of my beloved father. Eight years have passed, yet his love, sacrifices, and guidance continue to live in my heart every day.

My father passed away peacefully in Kutupalong Refugee Camp, Bangladesh, after patiently enduring the pain of advanced stomach cancer. He spent more than 26 years living as a refugee after being forced to flee our homeland, Myanmar, with little hope of ever returning. Despite the hardships, he remained patient, resilient, and steadfast in his faith.

By the mercy of Allah (SWT), my family in Ireland was able to speak to him through a video call before his passing. As his condition worsened, his final wish was to see his grandchildren one last time. Alhamdulillah, Allah granted us that precious opportunity, a moment that remains deeply cherished.

My father was more than a parent. He was my first teacher, my guide, and one of the greatest blessings Allah bestowed upon my life. He taught us the values of faith, patience, humility, and perseverance. Although he is no longer with us in this world, his legacy continues through his children and grandchildren.

As Allah reminds us:

"Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your full compensation on the Day of Resurrection."
(Qur'an 3:185)

Today, I pray that Allah (SWT) forgives all of my father's sins, accepts his good deeds, expands and illuminates his grave, protects him from the trials and punishment of the grave, makes his grave a garden from the gardens of Jannah, elevates his rank among the righteous, and grants him the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus. May Allah reunite us with him in Paradise through His infinite mercy. Ameen.

I humbly request everyone reading this to remember my beloved father in your du'as. If possible, please recite Surah Al-Fatihah (once) and Surah Al-Ikhlas (three times), and ask Allah (SWT) to grant him mercy, forgiveness, and the highest ranks in Jannah.

"O Allah, forgive him, have mercy upon him, grant him well-being, pardon him, make his grave a garden from the gardens of Jannah, and grant him Al-Firdaus Al-A'la. Ameen."

May Allah accept your du'as and reward you abundantly.

Jazakum Allahu Khayran.

Mohammed Rafique
